View Full Version : Is "Un-Transmutation" Possbile?

A few months into my serious training as a psion, I was in the park and found a statue with a peculiar construct attached to it. I brought it home, cleaned it up, and on further inspection, I found that keeping this statue with me acted as an "energy immune system" of sorts. It cleaned up viruses others put in my system and guarded me from all sorts of foreign energies and constructs without any conscious thought on my part.

One day in class, my friend and I scanned the object to find the construct was a dense, black core surrounded by some sort of white light. The black core made me suspicious, but I figured I was only keeping the thing in my pocket, and I could take it out if something bad happened.

A time soon came when the statue was necessary. A foreign energy was constantly trying to invade my body, and even with the statue, I spent the whole of my energy focusing on keeping this stuff out. After some convincing and a scan from some more powerful psions, they agreed that something had to be done about the foreign energy.

That was when I got stupid about what I was doing. I knew these people did not like me and were only training me so they could keep me from going to another group I knew existed. Instead of making any attempts to destroy the energy outright, they asked how I had fended the stuff off.

I showed the most powerful psion (also the one that disliked me the most) the statue. He scanned it and then put it in his hat (he performed most of his actions from his hat; constructs he put in it acted as catalysts). Without telling me what he was doing, he had me grab his hand.

Afterwards he told me, "whatever was in that statue, is now in you." I don't doubt that this guy was able to transmutate; he was considered the strongest psion in our school at the time.

Now that I look back on it, I'm pretty sure he knew the construct from the statue would cause me problems in the future. I started to get suspicions that my transmutated construct was not all I had hoped for when I noticed a change in my natural abilities. Although I have gained new abilities, I have lost some that were near and dear to my heart and necessary for how I worked as a psion. It seems as though my overall power levels and ability to generally do things with energy has not changed, it's just the things I can do that have changed.

I find that there is viscous, black goo in my energy ways and storage spaces. I have to focus to not shoot black energy everywhere whenever I attempt to use my energy. Whenever I ask someone to help me clear the goop out, they get disgusted and exclaim that the stuff is moving around. Even if I manage to clear it up, it shows up within a matter of hours, at most. It's gotten to the point where I don't even try anymore.

I have tried a number of drastic and sometimes stupid things to end this issue, but nothing so far has worked. I can feel this gray energy digging deeper and deeper into my system as time goes by.

I should mention that it would be near impossible for me to find the person who had created the initial construct. There was high activity from metaphysical beings in the neighborhood, and it is hypothesized that there was one psion with innate abilities they've had since birth for every ten people in my area. That's not even counting nons or other psions who had to train their way into psionics.

In short, is it possible to "un-transmutate" one's self? Even if somebody else did the initial transmutation?

I can't get much help from others, considering out of the nine other psions I know, there are only two who are at or above my ability level. Four of them haven't even gotten over "OMGGGGGG! I can shoot an energy ball!!!!"

It's not a transmutation. That term refers to someone who confers their speciality abilities on another person, instinctively. It doesn't refer to putting other kinds of mods in people, or putting weird gunk from statues in people.

Whatever that person did--yes, they are either malicious, or just a complete and total impulsive idiot. Keep in mind there are far more of the latter in the world. Talk to Firestorm.

Hopefully there won't be any problems clearing the gunk back out of your system and undoing whatever the twit did to you.

i'm game for helping aluna out as well, i've had some weird gunk in my system once or twice, and i'd like to see if hers is the same kind.

If this gunk has been in Aluna's body for a long time, wouldn't it have integrated so much that removing it would be potentially harmful?

hmm, i doubt that the gunk has been in there that long.

I don't care. I want it out. I've taken my fair share of hits; and I'd rather face the adverse effects then leave that stuff in there to fester even further. Besides, that's not the only thing those crazy people did to me. If I just accept that what's done is done, it's like all that time I spent keeping myself relatively safe from them was wasted.

WW, I'm not very well-versed in my terms. I read the transmutation sticky, but I must have interpreted it wrongly. I'll hopefully get the hang of my vocab someday.

That is a risk, but it has to be weighed against the harm of leaving it there--and she clearly doesn't want it left there. lol

Cancer is a good example of something that causes harm when you remove it, but a lot more harm if you leave it.
