It depends on the kind of pet you want. Pretty much anyone can make a simple pet that just sits there, it would take a moderate amount of programing ability to make anything complex. The pet's shape will match you capabilities to manipulate and visualize your energy to match what you want.

that is a descent program class. It’s been a wile since I did it but I remember it being pretty good.

I once made a dark purple pikachu with green stripes and bat
wings it could eat psi food and psi water in its psi food bowl as well
as use a miniture psi nuke and it had portals to the ocean and the sun
for a suplemental energy source the only problem with it was that
I forgot to add a way to repare its self so it became to unstable
to safely use in just under a week

Not really, a psi pet wouldn't really be imaginary, just because most other people can't see/feel it doesn't mean it's not there.

Yes and no because my psi pets unlike
imaginary friends eat each other and
protect people from being attacked psionicly.

so were Zanian's imaginary friends... they were not imaginary but because he was 7 years old they should have been but I could see/feel them (7 years old too) and they were/are deff. more than just imaginary!!! and so they come about in the same manor but the difference is psi pets are not just in the mind but become separate entities of yourself... like taking a piece of yourself and making a new body out of it and giving it another mind but you both still have the same spirit.
