I have no problem with generating the energy, but when it comes time to project, i have problems with visualizing and trying to send at the same time. Any suggestions? I'm trying to burn a hole in a paper target and not getting anything. I try to visualize a laser beam, but i've never seen one before.
Thanks in Advance :)

thats a fairly good picture of a laser beam.
if it was me trying it, id visualise that (but red not green)
being emmited from my minds eye. and just try to
pool more intensity into the beam .
but then , ive never tried doing anything like that
so what would i know
Good luck.

Yes, try something easier--get a sensitive thermometer, and try raising the temperature so that it registers.
Have you done energy control and shielding work?

oh yeah, i practice every chance i get, but i guess it's just a matter of focus, ie am i supposed to try and bore through the target or am i merely trying to increase kinetic activity? I know that things heat thorugh either convection or conduction, so am i to try to heat one molecule at a time?
So is the beam a "tool", representative of my intent?
Thanks again.
P.S. Damn, that was fast:)

Maybe it would be easier to use pk to tear the paper apart rather than burn thru it, you would need to significantly raise the temperature to burn a hole in it.

Hey Lebian, you do know that green beams are stronger than red beams? It could probably help to visualize a green beam because they are more powerful...

really?
Didnt know that.
i just assumed burning->fire-> red
to help with the visualising.

It may be psychologically better to imagine the laser as being red, but yes, green photons do have more energy than red ones.
Another thing to help may be to draw a dot on the part of the paper you're trying to make a hole in. That way it will be better to focus on.

You're not working with photons. You are trying to increase the kinetic energy in the object, yes.

oh, I know. I mean that in physics that photons that are green have more energy, so green lasers are more powerful than green lasers. I know that when this person does this excersize doesn't create a "laser" by its definition in physics.

Depends on which definition you use, which is why the Guild doesn't use the standard terms.
It's kinetic ability--raising the kinetic energy in the object to produce either heat or vibration.
Manipulating fire would be matter manipulation...you're manipulating an existing form of matter, not creating heat.

are you trying to increase your "pyrokinesis" ability? if you are, then try holding the paper above a lit candle, high enough that it doesn't burn. then, use "pyrokinesis" to increase the height of the candle flame and burn the paper.
EDIT: for projecting energy you could make a pendulum in a controlled environment and practice projecting the energy through your solar plexus and moving the pendulum. for heat, try using your third eye to project kinetic energy instead of your hands. i think the guild said something about heat kinetic energy being easier and better projected through the third eye than through the hands.

please post a description of how to do the technique once you've accomplished it....it sounds interesting + fun :)
