Yes, that's right, it's a contest of sorts to come up with NEW AND BETTER advanced area test questions. Both those who passed the blasted thing, and those who are still struggling with it, now's your chance to make a difference.
Here is what the test MUST do:
It must ensure that people accessing the area either A) Have enough knowledge and experience to safely use the information there or B) Have demonstrated a high enough level of self-discipline, logic, and maturity to know whether or not they should use it.
I'll leave possible answers to Winged wolf
Can you make a shield?
Which of these isn't a birth-switch?
What is knowledge according to Maverick?
Which most closely resembles Mavericks technique on improving your technique?
How many phase-switchers does it take to change a light bulb?
can anyone read this post?
if you shot an energy dart at a Non what would mostlikely happen?

Sorry to take away from the meaning of this thread a little, but I was wanting to make a post tonight, and it had no real place other than the combat forum. I don't have the forum priviledges to access that forum... So I look around a little, and there's this test...
Keep in mind that this isn't an excuse to relieve myself from such a test, as I'll take it if I have to, but I was created to be good at terminal combat. I also spent a longer time than I sometimes like to remember refining it.
When I do this test, do I have to answer any theory questions which are listed on the guilds site?
Because, while I appreciate this guild, what its aiming to do, and what it stands for, I don't subscribe to all of it's definitions and dogma. I have a lot of my own definitions for things, and a lot of things I can't even explain with the barrier of the english language.
I'd be willing, if neccesary, to reveal the specifications of my combat abilities in private... If that was needed to allow me access to this forum.
If you really want substantial information on my level of self-discipline, logic, and maturity, I'll give it.

Yes, Guild theories and other information are included in the test. As it states clearly on the test page, this test isn't there to force people to agree with us. The purpose of the test is to determine whether the person has the self-discipline to actually read the site so that they can answer the questions--in other words, is it important enough to you? This keeps the vast majority of novices out, because they don't understand the questions well enough to answer them all correctly. It allows in people who show signs of having enough maturity and patience not to try to use information that they know they aren't ready to use IN. These people demonstrate their potential to go far with psionics by demonstrating they have the essential mindset necessary to do so--patience, perseverence, self-discipline, and desire.
Some more experienced folks may feel put out by having to take a test to access material which they're probably going to already be largely familiar with, in the hopes of gaining a few new ideas. My advice there is, you didn't get where you are by being lazy--don't start now.

ha ha. Good call.
It must ensure that people accessing the area either A) Have enough knowledge and experience to safely use the information there
If you're worried about safety issues, I would highly suggest an interview process.
Just my two cents.

But I don't care what Mav thinks knowledge is, and reading it is a waste of my time.

Proves you had the discipline to read the site.

Which may well just put people off, if what we have to offer is...bah, we've had this argument before.
*waits for Kitsune to reorganize the whole thing*
Why is this still here now that theres not an advannced area any more?
