Becoming aware of your body, and in particular being able to focus your awareness either on one small part of your body exactly, or extend it over your entire body (as with skin-charging) is also a skill beginners sometimes have difficulty with. The following exercise is designed to help train you to expand and focus your awareness.

Lie flat on your back (elevate your upper body slightly if you are prone to acid-reflux, or the position is uncomfortable). Your arms should be at your sides, but not touching. Your legs should be straight, and slightly apart.

Allow yourself to relax completely, and breathe evenly. Then, starting at your feet, begin paying attention to various points on your body. Start with your toes. If it helps, wiggle them. Move your focus up...further onto your feet, over your heels, etc. It may help to tense and relax muscles in those areas as your attention moves over them. Once you reach the top of your head, you're done.

When you can do this easily, try narrowing your focus to 4 to 6 inch square areas of your body--move up the front of your body, and once you reach the top of your head, around and down your back to your feet again. Do one leg, then the other, one arm, then the other.

Once you can do this easily, try expanding your focus. Start at your feet, but instead of moving your awareness along your body, extend it along your body. Focus on your toes, then your feet and toes, then your legs and toes, etc. If you can't accomplish focusing on your entire body in one day, do as much as you can, and try to go a bit further the next day.

Once you can do this easily, you may wish to try expanding your awareness beyond your body, encompassing increasingly larger areas of the room around you, and if you can sense it, your entire energy field and its boundaries.

I'm not sure where to ask this, but I'm guessing this thread would be appropriate.
Well, I can easily sense my body entirely "well done... what's your point?" - I can also sense outside my body in a quite large area. I can use the Edges [?] of this awareness to form shields.

My question being, am i confusing 'Awareness' with 'psi-field(s)' [or vice-versa] ? Or can they roughly be the same thing?
<Argh :?>

to the best of my knowledge, it is possible to be aware of areas outside your body in a psionic manner. In addition, you should be sure that you arent just sensing your aura, which is also a possibility, they can be pretty big. As for the shielding thing, it has been my experience that I can put a shield anywhere I like, in or out of my aura, so the shielding question really isnt an issue at all.

Once you begin sensing outside the range of your aura, you're "reaching"...sending energy out to explore your surroundings.

Thanks,
Just the range i'm sensing...sorta is my 'aura'. I noticed its bigger than I'd anticipated; like metres big - with no 'reaching' that I'm aware of. [Not conclusive evidence I know: but an energy-experienced friend noticed that it was extending beyond the walls of the room we were in, as I felt.]
As to the issue of shielding, its not a matter of forming the energy in a certain place [intentionally, anyway] - but sorta like hardening the field at a certain point from my body, in a radius.

Hope this makes what I'm getting at slightly clearer :? .
