The 3 of you who wanted custom Avs (Bennu, Fenix, Slash) you all have them up now.

How would someone else go about getting a custom avi, if they could?

First, you may NOT use someone else's custom avatar. The avatars in the custom avs area are for those who have specifically requested them, and not for any other person to use. Please refer to our forum rules.

While we're at it, I believe everyone would appreciate it if you would pick a unique nickname to use, rather than using someone else's nick with a number tacked on the end. When you applied, the reason 'Kitsune' was not available was because someone else was using it. That someone happens to be an admin, so your use of the nick is likely to create confusion (not to mention irritation).

How would I go about requesting this image as my custom avi?

Uploading a custom avatar is done through one of the links in the left panel of the UserCP, and then going to the bottom of that screen (you should have two options: providing a URL and uploading it directly).
Two things to keep in mind:
1.) If your avatar is LARGER THAN 100x100, it WILL shrink (proportionately) to fit a 100x100 space. If your avatar is MUCH LARGER THAN 100x100, it will look like crap this way, especially if it's wider than it is tall.
2.) This 100x100 space that your image will occupy is going to be superimposed on a gray border/background. This is normal; it is a feature, not a bug. I purposely modified the forums to do this so that we could have custom avs without upsetting WW too much :)
