Withdrawal symptoms — possibly including headache, irritability, an inability to concentrate, and stomach aches — may appear within 12 to 24 hours after discontinuation of caffeine intake, peak at roughly 48 hours, and usually last from one to five days - representing the time required for the number of adenosine receptors in the brain to revert to "normal" levels, uninfluenced by caffeine consumption.
From Wikipedia, about withdrawal symptoms from caffeine.
Heh -- it does explain quite a bit recently :P

Attempting to drop caffeine altogether, actually, yeah.
I don't even really have a reason for it other than I feel like it. And I've heard it actually is quite a bit healthier to do so as well. But that could just be a rumor.
Does explain why I've been easily pissed off the last couple of days. And I may continue to be so as well. It also explains the various headaches that sporadically occurred over the past couple of days too. *shrugs*

The soda craving, I'm fixing rather well with Sprite, milk and that fruity-flavored water stuff. I KNOW Sprite is soda, but it's non-caffeinated soda in theory, so it should be okay.

Heh heh. I remember my withdrawls. Mom stopped buying Coke and Pepsi when I was a kid, opting for root beer instead. "It was cheaper." I fiended so badly that I probably went through a case of it in a day and a half, my body trying to suck the caffeine out of the soda that didn't have any...I knew it didn't, but I craved nonetheless. And though it gave my mind a nice, happy reprieve for a few minutes (placebo effect), it came back, and I downed another can... *Shudder* Bad times...Think of being thirsty. So you go to a lake. And drink. It all. And for some reason you're still thirsty. And it just..won't..end...

I'm glad I saw this, as it explains why I'm so out of sorts. Thanks for starting the topic, Fx.
