The document's been moved to the advanced area. Most newbies didn't seem to understand it very well, and spent too much time worrying about birthswitches when they would have spent their time more productively working on basics such as focus, control, and shielding.
I can understand doing that. I always thought it did make sense to move it.

The birthswitch theory is actually very hypothetical, IMO. I'll admit to being biased against research done by a single person. Especially a person who is generally very rude and gives me no reason to believe their research took place under proper conditions. (I know the theory is credited to ANKA and students, but there's not really any proof of it).
I do repect the guild and acknowledge all that they have to share and trying to build through their efforts. But no worries, there is nothing on this planet I do not take with a grain of salt until experienced myself. I'm also not some kid who read a chapter or two of Dion Fortune, found a website and think it stops there. This is not my first, only or last stop on this journey.

Wingedwolf is referring to the psychic energy system. Appears to distribute energy and whatnot. Think of it like a naturally occuring construct in everybody. Energy discharges, if strong enough, could logically cause damage. Damage to bodily systems is generally a bad thing, so it's probably safest to assume the same with this particular system.
Yep, Got it. I've worked with other energy types in groups or one on one, but with intent and purpose. So I'll work on "keeping the safety on" with this system. :)

We're not the only ones to have noticed the specialty psis. Anka was taught about them by HIS mentor. And I first found reference to synchronizers on another website in, I think, German.
The term 'phoenix', doesn't originate with Anka.
I've noticed certain specialties myself, notably psi-vamps and generators. There just seems to be too many variations to have a set list. Personally, I'd make the descriptions in the genetics theory vaguer and more general.

I actually don't disagree, Vlad, and plan to do a bit of revision on that score. However, the truth is that phoenixes DO tend to all look remarkably similar to one another, even if the eye color pattern proved not to be 100% consistant (It's still 90% consistant). The physical appearance traits are things I mean to revise to be emphasized less now that we have a larger sample...nevertheless, specialties of the same type continue to most often look remarkably like one another.

WingedWolf, I have a letter that I recieved from Luba, detailing how she was taught. It's about ten pages in legnth, and it dates the term "phoenix" to the early 1890s, or at least, it dates an equivalent term to then, as this seems to have occurred MULTIPLE times in my family, with Luba, Luba's aunt Chana, Chana's grandmother Sorah, Sorah's uncle Moishe, her cousin Rivve, and I believe another sibling of Luba's who committed suicide some time when they were about thirteen. I'm currently working on translating it in to English (which by rights ought to take me no more than twenty minutes, but I'm increasingly lazy, since I understand everything in the original yiddish), and I will scan the original letter when I get my scanner to work.
Also, in the letter it says how her ... Aunt, I believe, taught her how to recognise another phoenix.
Unfortunately, the only contact that I have from Luba is incoming, the few letters that she sends to me, and her phone calls.

So where is this advanced area?
