Sorry if this thread is in the wrong place. Feel free to move it as you will. I seem to remember a discussion section in the old forum that would be a more appropriate place for this, but things seem a bit different here in the year since I've last visited...
So anyway, lately I seem to feel more and more connected on some level to the Nommo of Dogon mythology. There are many mysteries in my life, involving but not limited to dreams, waking visions, a channeling experience from long ago, and a very special picture I took a couple years ago. Once my attention was turned to the Nommo, though, it was like all the pieces started to fit together. Things I've struggled for years to make sense of suddenly seem to make sense. I was just wondering if any of you also feel connected to the Nommo.
To catch you up in case you're sitting there wondering "what the bleep are Nommo?", the Nommo are amphibious alien beings that thousands of years ago passed along advanced astronomical information to the Dogon tribe in Mali, Africa, that we only recently, as in the last couple years, have verified as true. This info included, among other details, the fact that Sirius is a three star system, that Sirius B is a white dwarf, that Saturn has rings, that Jupiter has 4 moons... How else could such a primitive people know such detailed info about stars that we are still struggling to understand? Your guess is as good as mine.
Similar stories of amphibious beings can be found in many ancient civilization mythologies, including the Babylonians, Sumerians, Philistines, Egyptians, Greeks. The myth even resonates in the Jesus mythology, ie. the "star" the wisemen followed to find him, eat of my body, his connection to fish...
So what are your thoughts on these beings, the Nommo? http://www.meta-religion.com/World_Religions/Ancient_religions/Africa/dogon_theory_of_creation.htm This is a website that I pulled some of this info from. I'd like to hear your opinions/feelings. Especially if you also feel some connection to them.

Okayyy, so 1) nobody knows anything about the Nommo and the Dogon, 2) nobody believes in the theory behind them, or 3) nobody cares... It's a shame. Took me two years of searching forums and sites like this to stumble upon knowledge of them, and IMO, the evidence of the truth behind the myth is astounding. If I didn't describe them adequately, you might want to pick up the book "The Sirius Mystery" by Robert Temple. In case you're among the first group.

blast from the recent past. my astronomy teacher mentioned something like that to us. as far as a connection goes, i neither believe or disbelieve (openness due to lack of experience), but i have not felt a connection to them. do you want me to see if i can find anything (of a metaphysical nature) on them?
that class was just about as far from astronomy as it was possible for it to be.
and because im on the topic, i am distinctly considering directing him here. so you might have a new member soon (and enough questions to bog you down for the rest of the century).

Hi Pavlov,
Sounds like an interesting astronomy class. Wish I could have been there. Feel free to send your teacher my way. What would he bog me down with questions about, if you don't mind my asking? Has he mentioned feeling a connection to the Nommo too?
What do you mean by "find anything of a metaphysical nature on them"?
Thanks for your input!

Yeah, this is just a BIT outside of the scope of the Guild. I'll be frank and vote for 1, 2, and 3. <G>

I apologize. Like I said, it's been over a year since I've checked this forum out, and it seems things have changed somewhat. In my defense however: 1) I did put this in the Chatter section, 2) I seem to remember quite a few discussions in the past in the Otherkin section where you repeatedly affirmed your connection to both wolves and ancient birds (or something...). How is my feeling a connection to ancient fish-people any different? ;)
